Slow Success, 2022
I wanted to offer an alternative to stereotypical success in a capitalist society through the lens of slow living. As I learned during this project, success requires nothing but that which we already have, it is our memories and experiences that make us rich. Living ethically, consuming only that which we need and being content doing so is a life lived successfully.
I took these images during a stay in a rural cottage in Ceredigion, Wales where there was no heating or phone service, and we did not see another soul for miles. I was able to take the time to observe and appreciate the beauty of golden hour, the warmth of the fire and the crisp air on a cool winter’s day. I hope that this series can inspire others to incorporate slow living into their lives and ultimately help them to find the joy in the everyday.
